It was 90 degrees today and what I had planned to make for dinner required the oven to be turned on for an extended period of time.

Then Sanford came home and said he had a meeting to go to at 5:00.

I needed to run to target...so the boy lucked out and I bailed on dinner and let him get his FaVoriTE fast food item.

He eats the whole thing every time...and since he's such a stick figure, I don't have that big a problem with him having one a month or so...he doesn't touch the fries...just the burger.  Whatevs...how the boy can dislike potatoes in every form is beyond my scope of comprehension! : /

We had baseball again on Wednesday.

Connor had quite a hitting streak going...he was 6 for 6 going  into the game.

The game started off great and continued that way for him.

He pitched and got 3 strike outs...throwing 6 strikes in a row...

He went 3 for 3 and drove in several runs....

...and they ended up going ahead in the last inning and holding off the Angels to pull out a victory.

Unfortunately, in Connor's last at bat, he struck out and ended his streak at 9 for 9.

Still...batting .900 in the last 3 games is nothing to sneeze at.

I'm guessing his spot at Clean Up is safe for now :)

Connor's book report was due Tuesday.

It was another biography/auto-biography.

He chose

This book report was different.  There was a list of questions and you had to discuss the answers to the questions with a parent and they signed off on it.

Is it wrong that I missed the diorama???

Monday was back to grind with school, work, and homework.

Connor brought his bass home and Sanford mowed the lawn.

Here's a picture of the item that's saving my floors every time that bass comes home.  It's called a rock stop and it keeps the instrument from sliding across and gouging my wood floors.  Best $7 I ever spent. :)

On Sunday, we went to K1Speed...I referred a client to one of my daycare dads, who is a realtor, he was having a client appreciation party there and invited us...so the boys got to drive for free...SWeeT! :)

Jo-Ellen and Sam were there too...they are the sellers I referred to Jason...I opted not to drive because the boys don't play nice and I had no interest in getting put into a wall or spun out in the middle of the track...Sanford got flagged with the big ol' NO BuMPinG!! flag both times he raced!  He put Connor into the wall and spun out the poor guy who had the nerve to be in front of him...of course he claimed that was an accident...but we all know Carvajal is Swedish for BiG CheaTeR!!!!!

The boys had a BLaST!!

...and I had a BLaST watching them have a BLaST :)

I swear sometimes it really is like I have kids instead of 1...when I talk about them to people, I call them them "the BoYS"...it's kinda funny.

We missed the last race because we had dinner plans and needed to leave early.

We went over to the Hodges for swimming and dinner.  Connor had a great time and even Sanford seemed to enjoy himself.

I tried out a new cupcake recipe...Butterfinger Milkshake cupcakes...they were a big hit..but I'd definitely squeeze in a little LeSS homemade caramel sauce next time/...I thought the cupcake were too wet and gooey...

It was a SuPeR fun weekend...one of the kind you are sad to see end because it's been completely stress free and everyone is getting along so nicely...

I started prep for Teacher Appreciation Week this week.

I made StRaWBeRRY-GiNGeR JaM...and I'll put labels on that say "thanks for being the BERRY best teacher" :)

I'm a BIG fan of PuNS for teacher appreciation week!

I always feel so proud of myself when I make jam...it's not like it's hard...just a little messy...but it's so gratifying when the lids PoP and you know it's all perfectly preserved and ready to store.

I'll post more pics of the completed projects in the second week in May...just because I made the jam early...doesn't mean I actually think things will get done early...it'll be a last minute deal...like always :)

Connor had baseball practice on Friday and played outside for a while before he came in...

...just having a little light saber war...I think two on one evens out the age difference out nicely...

I went out of my comfort zone for dinner and made pancit...FYI...rice noodles are dangerous before they are cooked...one actually sliced me open and made my finger bleed...I went down and picked up some Lumpia and made Teriaki chicken on a stick too...but I wasn't smart enough to remember to take a picture of everything all done :(
