Day 13 of my PuNnY VaLenTinE...

I have definitely enjoyed this more than the boys did...I think I may do it again next year though...but I don't see how I'll be able to come up with 14 new puns :)

Here's one of my FaV cookies from this week's mad baking...the boys both liked it too...makes me realize once again how talented the ladies who have cookie blogs are...perfect outlines...uniform dots size, no crazy, painfully sharp points on their dots...sigh...they rock...I merely impress 11 year olds...

a few more...I love the shape of this cookie cutter!  I bought it in 2 sizes.  It totally reminds me of a card die cut shape :)

Sanford's snack last night...PeaNuT BuTTeR SwiRLeD BrOWnieS covered in candy melts and decorated...with a glass of milk

I made two of these for Sanford to take in to his secretaries for VaLenTine'S daY...brownie cake pop, covered oreos, and chocolate and regular sugar cookies...seems like there's something for everyone :)

OK...so I know this goes in the box with...the $50's don't all fit in your wallet and you're diamond tiara is too tight...BUT......

We pay GooD money to live in the Paradise...so when i wake up to THIS...

...it's worth whining about :)

That is FRoST...ICE...FroZeN WaTeR...on my grass!  and Sanford left the cars out because the boys still have the trains down and there was ICE on his car!!! ReaLLY?!?!?!?  FreeZinG??? HeRe???
No thank you!  Go away Mr. Jack Frost...you do NOT live here...

Alright...enough sniveling about frost when people are buried under 6' of snow in other places...  :)

Here's the day's PuNnY VaLenTinE...

Needless to say...Connor LoVeD it!!   I put Sanford's in his lunchbox since he never checks his mailbox.

The boys went out to practice pitching before dinner...

Sanford made Connor a pitching mound to practice from and faithfully lugs the monstrosity....ummm, I mean contraption...no..no..AcTuaLLy it's the...BriLLianTLy ConSTrUCtED piece of EQuiPmEnT...out from the backyard whenever they practice...  :)

I made the coolest cookie boxes yesterday for Connor to give to his teachers...they were SuPeR easy and turned out so professional looking in their packaging  :)  I am such a SuCKeR for CuTe packaging!

I think it's funny that Connor still enjoys bringing his teachers treats from home...I'm not sure how much longer it will be before this kind of thing embarrasses him and he tells me to stop...but I'm going to stay on the ~SuCK UP to ThOsE TeaCHeRS~ bandwagon as looooong as possible!!!

Side note...I think I've become just a squidge addicted to the Collage Making App I found...it's so AmAZingLy handy...and one collage picture uploads to the blog muuuuuuuuch faster that 27 individual pics :)  ...plus they look so cute...kinda funny that a free App could bring me so much happiness...man...I need to get out more!

PuNnY VaLenTinE day 10

...for Connor...

...for Sanford...

I personally think this one is incredibly clever and amusing...Sanford looked at me like I'd lost my mind...sigh...my wit is definitely under appreciated here...  :)

The boys went back to the train show again while I went down to bring a few treats to my Grandma who had hip replacement surgery on Tuesday.  She looked amazingly good to me and even got up and moved around...I was ImPreSSeD!  She's not a fan of physical therapy, but is looking forward to being able to walk without the pain that the arthritis in her hip was causing her.  I told her she'd be moving just like the bionic woman in no time!!

The boys played trains when they got home...

Connor lost a tooth Sunday morning...a BiG ol' molar...

This is what the Tooth Fairy left...she's getting a LOT more generous now that there are only a few more teeth to go :)

PuNnY VaLenTinE day 9...

Connor needed a haircut...desperately! :(

before....

   after....

The big train show was in town...one that is usually only in San Diego every few years...

Sanford was all excited to go...he had asked for $$ for his bd so that he could get whatever he wanted at the show. He was only fairly successful at spending his money on Saturday...and actually had to go back on Sunday to spend some more....

The show was HuGE...it was in two buildings at the fairgrounds...Connor went off on his own and bought gliders and lego keychains...ExAcTLy the kind of thing you would expect him to purchase at a TRAIN show...

The highlight for Connor was...

...funnel cake...

...mmmm.....

It was a nice day...but extremely expensive...
$10 for parking
$25 for admission
$32.50 for food and funnel cake
...and we hadn't bought a single train yet...
definitely NOT something you would do every weekend...but the boys had a great time :)

PuNnY VaLenTinE...day 8 for Sanford...

Friday night was cold and rainy and we were all home....we had popcorn and watched a movie...it was amazingly suburban :)

Connor helped himself to an ice cream and got bored 1/2 way through the movie...he started playing Minecraft before intermission...in his defense...it is a LooooOooNG movie...it seriously had an intermission...and was on two discs!

I went to bed after the movie and the boys stayed up playing...you'd think they were both 11! :)

My mom is invited to the baby shower of a family friend and had the thoughtful idea of making cookies to bring...

...Cute, labor intensive, messy, time consuming, royal icing covered sugar cookies...

She called me to ask about my cookie cutter stash and if I had something to use...I convinced her to go simple and just do heart shapes in the colors of the shower invite...here's the invite...

...just adorable right?!!?!...

She's really busy at work, and I'm having a slow week, so first I offered to make the frosting for her...which is a tedious, time consuming process...

four colors...and then a piping and a flood consistency for each color...

...did I mention it was messy??

Then I offered to just decorate the cookies because I honestly didn't see when she was going to have the time to do it...

I made some bigger ones...

...and a bunch of minis...somehow the pink zebra print ones were camera shy... I don't have any pictures of them

So she's borrowing my black cake plate and taking these to the shower tomorrow...So she got her cookies decorated and set for presentation and I learned how to make pink leopard print in icing...which is obviously an important skill...I'll definitely have to tweak my resume to include that in a BOLD font :)

Here's a gratuitous shot of the boy studying for his Social Studies test...TWO chapters...and there's a Latin roots quiz in English Friday...Wednesday was the math test and Thursday was a science test...it's been a rough week for the poor guy!

I let him eat the ugly cookie rejects as a snack when he got home to help cushion the stress of all the studying he's been doing :)  Ok...not aLL of the rejects...or he's have had a stomachache...there were a LOT of FugLy cookies this go round! YiKeS!! :)
