Day 6 of My PuNnY VaLenTinE...both boys got this   :)

I sure hope it was true for Connor...he had a big math test yesterday!  

I ReaLLy wanted to put (*ss) in little tiny letters after the SMarTtiE on Sanford's...but it seemed inappropriate...this being nice thing is waaaaaaay harder than I thought!

Here's a peek at what I'm doing on Thursday...

...but I won't have anything to show until Friday...Thursday will just be 90 minutes of making frosting...I HaTE that part!!!

I totally forgot to take a real picture of yesterday's PuNnY VaLenTinE...but here's the Instagram snap...

Sanford had a meeting yesterday afternoon with the Padres...

Here's a picture of the clubhouse...he texted me this picture along with a note saying he was eating Cracker Jacks :)

Here's a shot of some fan mail...Sanford said he peeked in and could see that it was written in cute little kid writing...He was there to hear about educational opportunities presented by the Padres organization...I don't think he learned much....but he enjoyed the heck out of the venue! 

Since Sanford wasn't home, I asked Connor what he wanted for dinner...

His answer was quite surprising...TaCOS...

Ummmmm....ok...we have the meat and cheese and I can pick some iceburg lettuce out of a salad mix...we have corn tortillas...should be good to go...

I had to take a picture just because the ingredients looked so festive :)

I had never fried taco shells before...so I looked up the directions online...WhAT did we do BEFORE the IntERNeT?!?!

They turned out just fine...Connor snarfed down all but a single bite of two of them and Sanford ate two when he got home and asked why we'd never had them before.  

It took a lot less oil and was a lot less messy than I would have thought, so it's definitely something I'm willing to add to the dinner rotation...EsPeCiaLLy if BOTH boys like it!!

After Connor finished his homework, he asked if we'd like to play a board game...

After a little debate, he got out Aggravation.  He also brought up the big ol' TwizzLer rope he got in his mailbox on the day he got deodorant...he pulled it apart and was eating a little piece and Sanford saw it and asked Connor for some...Connor laughed his best EVIL laugh and proceeded to LiCK the candy...he then asked his father if he still wanted some...CHaRMinG!!!  He did eventually bite that piece off and share with his dad without any extreme coercion on our parts. :)

I went to take a picture of the box to blog and he stuck his face in like this...He was in RaRE form last night!  It was quite AMuSinG!! :)

It's too bad the Mayans didn't think the world was going to last just one more day....then the {+} of the blog and the age Sanford turned yesterday would have lined up perfectly...

Oh...wait...if I'd blogged ON his actual birthday instead of doing it a day behind it WOULD line up...

The Mayans knew eons ago exactly when Sanford was going to be born AND that I was going to start his blog based on their world-ending drama...and chose that day JUST so it would line up like this!  WoW! :)

ok...maybe not...but it's ToTaLLy funny how that lined up!

Here are the Chicken Enchiladas (and veggie enchiladas on the bottom) that get requested for dinner every year...Are you sensing that I think food is an important part of a HaPpY BDaY??

The boys went out to play a quick game of P-I-G before dinner...

 

                                             

The boy took the game winning shot and BeaT the old man P-I to P-I-G! :)  That NeVeR happens...I guess the BiRtHDaY stars didn't align  for Sanford at the hoop!

Then they came in to have dinner and cake...

Sanford said he only wanted $$$ for his birthday because the BiG train show was coming up soon at the Fairgrounds...so we went with a train party since he wasn't getting to open any train presents...

{*Techno-goober alert*...I spent over an hour online trying to figure out how to do a photo collage because the cheater way I've been doing it stopped working...turns out the whole problem was fixed with a free App from the App store...gotta love Apple!}

HaPpY BirThDaY Sanford!  We LoVE you!!  ...even if you are ReaaaaaaaaLLy OLD! :)

...Day 3 of my PuNnY VaLenTinE...

The boys had different puns again today.

Here's Connor's...

This is only funny if you play Minecraft.  The boys are both addicted to the game right now.  Sanford is the Minecraft Club Advisor for the high school and Connor is President of the Minecraft Club he started at the Middle School.  This green guy is called a CreEPeR...which is why the pun is funny :)

It's pretty corny and self-explanatory...but ScraBbLe tiles are a running joke in our relationship, so this was perfect.

It was a busy weekend...

Connor went to a Bridging ceremony on Friday night to welcome a new member to his pack.

Sanford had a dance Friday night and didn't get home until almost 1am and then he had Science Olympiad all day Saturday for the middle school.

Connor had baseball practice on Saturday and his reading and writing log to work on.

It was nice to just hang out and relax on Sunday.  We watched the Super Bowl and had the traditional Carvajal family Super Bowl meal...KFC :) ...it was great...no stress and no cooking :)

The boys had different puns today.

Connor's was...

...he loves strawberries and white chocolate so this one was obvious.  

Sanford on the other hand thinks that most fresh fruit and ALLLL vegetables are poison...even when they are covered in chocolate...so the berries wouldn't work for him.

 I did something I know he does like...even though there's nothing special about it and we have them in the house all the time...

I just told myself the pun was funny enough to make it acceptable.

I am embracing the whole...My PuNnY VaLenTinE...thing this year.

On Day 1, I started really simple...candy with a "You'Re SweeT" note :)

Each day the note will be a pun...I've already planned them all out and I'm all ready!  It's already obvious that I am definitely going to enjoy this more than the boys...

...DaNG!!!  You think maybe I should clean that mirror???  I'm leaving the picture in here like this just to keep it real :)   I'd like to blame the rotten job on the boy...but I'd be lying..it's all me.

I picked up the felt heart banner at Target for $3...I LoVE their dollar bin up front...it has the BeST seasonal goodies in it!!

The entry table...finally complete with M&Ms...it'll be interesting to see how long those last.

I should put an inconspicuous line with a dry wipe eraser on the back of the jar and see how quickly the candy disappears :)

I decided to do MaiLboXeS and a PuNNy VaLeNTinE countdown for the boys.  Each day in February until 

V-Day, there will be a punny note and a matching prize in their box.

I'm pretty certain that this is going to entertain me WaaAaAaaAAaaAaaY more than it amuses them...sigh...It's one of those RaRE times I wish I had a girl...or a wife...
